Weekly Pool Cleaning Service in the Oklahoma City Metro
A set day every week, a complete clean, tested and balanced water, and a visit report after every stop. This is the plan most OKC-metro homeowners choose, and the one that keeps a pool from ever reaching the green stage.
What every weekly visit includes
Cleaning
- Skim the surface and pull floating debris, cottonwood fluff and bugs
- Brush walls, steps, benches and the waterline tile
- Vacuum the floor, or check and empty your automatic or robotic cleaner
- Empty skimmer baskets and the pump strainer basket
Water chemistry
- Test free chlorine, pH, total alkalinity and cyanuric acid (stabilizer) every visit
- Check calcium hardness, salt level and phosphates on a regular schedule
- Add only the chemicals the readings call for, and log each one
Equipment
- Record filter pressure and clean or backwash when needed
- Listen to the pump motor, and check for air leaks and drips at unions and valves
- Check the salt cell, heater and automation for error codes
The visit report. After each stop you get your chemical readings, what we added, a photo of the finished pool and a note on anything we saw at the equipment pad. If the pool is ever off, you'll know why and what we did about it.
Why weekly, and not every other week, in summer
People often ask whether they can save money with every-other-week service. From late May through mid-September in central Oklahoma, it's usually a false economy. At water temperatures in the upper 80s, a pool that loses its chlorine can start growing visible algae in two to three days. Heat, sun, swimmers and storms can each burn through a week's worth of sanitizer, and in July they often show up together.
A weekly visit keeps the pool within a few days of its last full balance at all times. Every-other-week service fits the shoulder months (April, May, late September and October), pools with a salt system and a robotic cleaner, and lightly used pools in shaded yards. Chemistry that's right for Oklahoma, not just "in range"
Test-strip ranges are wide. Getting a pool to stay clear through an Oklahoma summer means managing the relationship between readings, not just each number alone. The big one is chlorine and stabilizer. Too little stabilizer and the sun strips chlorine by midday. Too much and the chlorine is so bound up that algae grows anyway, even though the test says it's "in range." We manage free chlorine relative to stabilizer, keep pH where it protects plaster and equipment, and hold alkalinity steady so pH doesn't swing after every rain.

What day will my pool be serviced?
Your service day is set by where you are on the route and stays the same every week. If a holiday or severe weather moves it, we tell you ahead of time.
What happens if it storms the day after my visit?
Weekly customers get priority post-storm checks. For a normal thunderstorm the next weekly visit handles it, but after a big storm we'll come out early to clear debris and re-balance before algae gets a foothold.
Do you clean the filter every week?
We check filter pressure every week and clean or backwash when the pressure rise says it's time. Cleaning too often can actually make some filters less effective, and too rarely starves the pump. Full cartridge or DE teardowns are scheduled a few times a year.
